Electroanalytical Nanoparticles Electrode Based on NanoTiO2/MWCNTs Mixture

Abstract: MWCNTs, nanoTiO2 and nanoTiO2/MWCNTs mixture modified GC electrodes were fabricated by mechanical attachment. Electrochemical performance of the nanoTiO2/MWCNTs/GCE was studied for detection of ascorbic acid in 0.1 M KCl electrolyte solution by cyclic voltammetry (CV). During cyclic voltammetry, the oxidation current of ascorbic acid at MWCNTs/GCE and nanoTiO2/MWCNTs/GCE appeared with enhancement of 1.3 and 1.5 times as compared to bare GCE, respectively. Enhanced oxidation peak of ascorbic acid has shown more resolved at nanoTiO2/MWCNTs/GCE surface. Therefore, it is evident that nanoTiO2/MWCNTs/GCE is a more superior type of modified electrode. The morphology of the nanoTiO2/MWCNTs mixture was characterized before and after electrolysis by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Energy dispersive x-ray spectrogram (EDX).
