Newest Product for Improved Aeroacoustic Testing within Wind Tunnels

The 67TS-1-CL flush-mounted turbulence screen microphone kit helps enhance noise measurement within the automotive and aerospace industries.

Demonstrating its commitment to supporting the automotive and aerospace industries in their effort to further reduce noise emissions, G.R.A.S. Sound and Vibration (www.gras.us) – leading developer of measurement microphones and related acoustic equipment is pleased to offer the compact 67TS-1-CL Flush Mount Turbulence Screen Microphone kit for improved aero-acoustic testing within wind tunnels.

As noise has a considerable effect on comfort and economy within an airplane or vehicle, G.R.A.S.’ simple and reliable flush-mount turbulence screen microphone kit is specially developed for accurate testing within wind tunnels in the near or far field, and at various wind speeds. By attenuating the hydrodynamic component of turbulence up to as much as 25 dB, the acoustic signals of interest can now be identified and diagnosed with a much more reliable resolution

As noise has a considerable effect on comfort and economy within an airplane or vehicle, G.R.A.S.’ simple and reliable flush-mount turbulence screen microphone kit is specially developed for accurate testing within wind tunnels in the near or far field, and at various wind speeds. By attenuating the hydrodynamic component of turbulence up to as much as 25 dB, the acoustic signals of interest can now be identified and diagnosed with a much more reliable resolution.

The turbulence screen integrates flush and recessed mounting techniques with a special wire mesh into a single unit with several mounting options. Key benefits include very high induced flow noise reduction, extremely low acoustic attenuation, low installation height, front or rear mounting options and flush-mount and standard microphone accommodation.

The 67TS-1-CL kit includes the 47BX ¼” flush mount microphone set combines high precision and reliable noise measurement with the ability to fit into tight/confined spaces. With an installation height of less than 10mm, the flush-mount microphone can be integrated into literally any design or application.

  • Turbulence frequency range 500 Hz – 10 kHz

  • Acoustic attenuation < 3 dB

  • Acoustic Frequency Range 100 Hz – 70 kHz

  • Dynamic Range 44 dBA – 166 dB

Since G.R.A.S. was established in 1994, they have been dedicated to the development and manufacture of high quality measurement microphones. For more information on G.R.A.S products, click on www.gras.us/contacts
