4-20 mA Loop  Powered Vibration  Sensors

Gaithersburg, MD  – Wilcoxon Research announces the addition of ten side exit models to its’ extensive line of 4-20 mA Loop Powered Sensors.  The lower clearance of our side exit models allows these sensors to be installed where a taller unit and its cables will not fit.

Wilcoxon's Loop Powered Sensor (LPS™) Series monitors rotating equipment in real time by providing 4-20 mA output proportional to the vibration level of the machinery.  This diagnostic information enables the plant manager to schedule preventive maintenance and planned downtime, saving time and money in costly and unexpected repairs.

According to Steve Wichtendahl, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, "These new side exit models round out our very popular 4-20mA Loop Powered Sensor Series. They give plant managers an inexpensive and efficient way to monitor vibration in places that traditional sensors do not fit. Plus the 4-20mA output can go directly to their PLC, data logger or computer."

All of Wilcoxon’s PC420 LPS™ Series sensors are reliable and easy to install. Side exit models come in a wide variety of options to meet the needs of every plant manager: standard 4-20 mA output; output of both 4-20 mA and dynamic data; dual output vibration and temperature; and dual output of temperature and vibration, with dynamic data. All side exit units are also available with an integral cable, including a model with intrinsically safe certification.

Like Wilcoxon’s well-received top exit LPS™ Series sensors, our side exit units are also available in several configurations - peak equivalent, true peak or true RMS - and can be encased in our standard rugged industrial stainless steel, intrinsically safe or explosion proof housing. We also offer a narrow frequency band 4-20 mA vibration sensor for plant managers who need to monitor a specific range of the vibration spectrum.

Applications for Wilcoxon's LPS™ Series sensors include: compressors, motors, vibrating conveyors, seal-less pumps, chillers, gearboxes, pumps, exhaust fans, reciprocating compressors, blowers, cooling towers, mixers, gas/steam turbines and centrifuges.
