Pokras S.I., Pokras A.I., Pokras I.S., Grishanova A.I. Ultrasonic flowmetering: how and why improve measurements accuracy?

The leading role of ultrasonic flowmeters is demonstrated, and further improvement of ultrasonic techniques is discussed. The effect of several factors destabilizing the operation of ultrasonic flowmeters is analyzed for their preliminary detection and prevention. This is a major step to the improvement of instrumental energy accounting and hence to vast cost savings.

Titov V.S., Ivanov V.I., Bobyr’ M.V., Barteneva Yu.L. An automated surface roughness monitoring system based on ultrasonic sensors

The paper discusses the functional principle of an automated surface roughness monitoring system used in part cutting with CNC based on real-time ultrasonic sensors application. Experimental investigation results show the opportunity for the resolution of 2 broadband reflected long-duration signals if the 2nd signal starts in 1-2 µs after the 1st one.

Semyonov A. D., Konovalov A. M., Revunov D. S. Dynamic response evaluation for fast-varying pressure sensors

A method for determining transfer function, time and frequency responses for fast-varying pressure sensors based on their experimental impulse response is proposed.

Krupkina T.Yu., Murashkina T.I. Transformation function of fiber-optic displacement transducers with reflecting attenuator

The transformation function of fiber-optic displacement transducers with reflecting attenuator is derived for determining the attenuator’s optimal design data in order to control the measurement performance.

Arbuzov V.P. Temperature error models for a capacitance pressure sensor

Temperature error models for a parametric capacitance transducer are considered. The models are based on the linear transformation of temperature errors of operating and reference capacitors. Error equations and an error correction algorithm are included.

Glukhov A.V., Pavlovsky V.E., Krasovsky V.E. The design of hard-/software system structures using fuzzy sets techniques

A formal method for hard-/software system structure optimization is offered. The method is based on fuzzy sets techniques.

Dvoryannikov Yu.V., Tumanov M.P. The effect of lag in network component on control system stability

The prerequisites for using Ethernet in distributed control systems design are discussed. The effect of signal lag on system stability is examined.

Trofimov A.N., Blinov A.V., Trofimov A.A. A unified family of high-temperature raster electromagnetic displacement sensors

A unified family of high-temperature raster electromagnetic displacement sensors is considered; their basic performance data and design solutions are presented.

Lebedev D.V., Selifanova V.V. On the modulation depth and nonlinearity of thin-film quasidifferential pressure sensors

The paper analyzes the variants of gap modulation depth and its effect on the nonlinearity of  quasidifferential thin-film capacitance pressure sensors. It proves that triple pressure overload can be admitted under permissible measurement accuracy loss due to the decreased gap modulation depth. The paper notes that the new sensors exceed vibroresonance pressure gages (cylinder, string, tuning-fork) pressure gages in overall performance.

Bogoslovsky S.V. SAW-based dispersion strain gaging resonator

SAW-based dispersion strain gaging resonator with non-equidistant transducer is a new type sensing element for pressure gages. The opportunity for more than tenfold improvement of SAW-based resonator sensor’s accuracy is shown.

Kalach A.V., Teplyakov A.V., Sitnikov A.I. A multi-channel signal collection device for an electronic nose

A multi-channel device for collecting the signals from gas-sensitive piezoelectric resonators is described.

Yershov E.V. An optoelectronic control system for sintering mix agglomeration

Operation principles of an optoelectronic process control system for sintering mix agglomeration are described. A method for analyzing high-temperature zone coefficient for controlling the agglomeration process termination is proposed. Image searching algorithms with maximum information density are described as well as  contrast and statistical algorithms for sinter cake fracture analysis.

Sapelnikov V.M., Khakimov R.A., Gazizov A.A., Shabanov M.A. Functional DAC. The design concepts

Design concepts and theoretical background of DAC for functional dependence representation are discussed. The focus is made on the design of functional DAC with hybrid conversion where the function calculation is inseparably linked with the digital-analog conversion process. The results of truncation error investigation are included.
